Winchester: where are the classes held?
Our Winchester antenatal classes are held at The William Walker pub, located in the historic square in the centre of Winchester.

Who runs the classes?
Meet Sophie.
Sophie is one of the midwives who teaches our Winchester antenatal classes. She has been a qualified midwife for six years after completing her training at Bournemouth University.
Sophie has a background of high risk labour care, care of an antenatal case load and providing antenatal education and trauma informed care. She has a passion for empowering positive births and ensuring women and birthing people have relevant information and education to allow them to make fully informed decisions around their care and understand why they are making those decisions.
The sessions Sophie runs are a safe space to explore options available to women and birthing people based on the latest evidence available to help families make the right choices for them. She is supportive and non-judgemental and wants to help families feel confident and empowered in their birth journey.
How does this differ to NCT classes in Winchester?
The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.
The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.
Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes in Winchester are priced at £299, compared to prices from £199 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Winchester are held at the St Laurence Parish Hall, whereas our classes take place at the William Walker pub where you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.
