Upminster: where are the classes held?
Our Upminster antenatal classes are held in the private room of Osteria on Corbets Tey Road. This has great transport links with Upminster Underground and Overground station a short walk away and parking available on the street outside.

Who runs the classes?
Meet Lucy.
Lucy is one the midwives that runs our antenatal classes in Upminster. Lucy graduated in 2016 from Anglia Ruskin University in Essex and has worked across all areas of Midwifery. She has found her real passion lies on Labour Ward which is where she predominantly works now.
Lucy is currently on maternity leave from her full time position as she has two young children, born within 19 months of each other, who keep her very busy! Lucy herself is a HPHB graduate, having taken the course in 2021 before the birth of her first daughter. She is still very close to the friends she met during the course.
Lucy says: “I can’t wait to meet all the new coursemates, I love to feel that I am helping families of all kinds prepare for such a wonderful time of their lives, and seeing the lovely friendships that can blossom as a result of taking this course.”
How does this differ to NCT classes in Upminster?
The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.
The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.
Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes near Upminster are priced at £299, compared to £199 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes near Upminster take place at Ardleigh Green Family Centre in Hornchurch, whereas our classes take place at a popular local pub in Upminster so you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.

Most of the people coming on our Upminster course are from Upminster. The course is also popular with those living in neighbouring areas of Hornchurch, Gidea Park and Brentwood.
From walks on Upminster Windmill, to coffee shop hangouts and playdates at each other’s houses, graduates from our Upminster antenatal classes are never short of things to do together.
