Who runs the classes?

Meet Jess

Jess is one of the midwives that teaches our Stroud antenatal classes.

Jess graduated in 2018 from Kingston University, she has worked within both the community and hospital setting since qualifying. Her passions are supporting families with feeding in the first crucial stages, and supporting physiological birth. She loves being outdoors and exploring new countries (as she demonstrated by spending 2 years backpacking!), when she is in the country she loves walking, climbing and playing the piano.

She says 'I'm so excited to meet you all and help you on your journey to becoming parents. You will leave the course feeling confident and excited for the next chapter of your lives, it is a privilege to be there to help you prepare you for it!'

How does this differ to NCT classes in Stroud?

NCT classes have been around since the 1950s and for many decades were the only antenatal classes. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case. Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes in Stroud are not the same as NCT classes in Stroud or other antenatal classes in and around Stroud. Here are some of the differences (as per December 2024).

Our local community

Most of the people coming on our Stroud course are from Stroud. The course is also popular with those living in neighbouring areas of Nailsworth, Minchinhampton and King’s Stanley.

From walks in the beautiful countryside to coffee meetings in town and playdates at each other’s houses, graduates from our Stroud antenatal classes are never short of things to do together.
