Who runs the classes?

Meet Claire

Claire is one of the midwives that teaches our Salisbury antenatal classes. Claire qualified as a midwife in 2015 from King’s College London and has worked in London and the South West in labour ward, birth centre and community roles. She has also worked overseas as a midwife in Uganda and Rwanda, but has now returned to her home town of Bournemouth. She says “Every family, every baby and every birth is special, and I can’t wait to support you in your own unique journey!”

How does this differ to NCT classes in Salisbury?

The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.

The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.

Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes in Salisbury are priced at £269, compared to prices from £199 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Salisbury are held at St Pauls Church whereas our classes take place at a popular local venue so you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.

Our local Salisbury community

Most people on our Salisbury course are from Salisbury. The course is also popular with people living neighbouring areas of Downton, Alderbury and Amesbury.

From walks to Old Sarum and trips to local farms, to hangouts in the coffee shops and at each other’s houses, graduates from our Salsibury antenatal classes are never short of things to do.

Is it worth it?

“We made the most amazing group of friends on this course. The instructors were so supportive, and I learnt so much. We can’t recommend it enough.”

Polly and Keith, May course
