Meet Claire
Claire is one of the midwives that teaches our Portsmouth antenatal classes. Claire qualified as a midwife in 2015 from King’s College London and has worked in London and the South West in labour ward, birth centre and community roles. She has also worked overseas as a midwife in Uganda and Rwanda, but has now returned to her home town of Bournemouth. She says “Every family, every baby and every birth is special, and I can’t wait to support you in your own unique journey!”
How does this differ to NCT classes in Portsmouth?
NCT classes have been around since the 1950s and for many decades were the only antenatal classes. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case. Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes in Portsmouth are not the same as NCT classes in Portsmouth, or other antenatal classes in and around Portsmouth. Here are some of the differences (as per December 2024).
Our local community
Most of the people coming on our Portsmouth course are from Portsmouth. The course is also popular with those living in neighbouring areas of Gosport, Havant and Hayling Island.
From walks around the docks to coffee meetings in the city centre and playdates at each other’s houses, graduates from our Portsmouth antenatal classes are never short of things to do together.
