Our Chapel Allerton, Leeds antenatal classes are held at the Northlight Art Centre on Potternewton Lane. There is onsite parking available and the centre prides itself on being a family-friendly and creative space.

Who runs the classes?
Meet Sam.
Sam is one of the midwives who teaches our Leeds antenatal classes. She graduated from the Univeristy of Leeds in 2020 and worked as a continuity of care midwife for 2 years before moving into research. Sam is now applying for PhD in Midwifery looking into improving outcomes for women who experience pre-term birth.
In her spare time she love’s going to the gym and keeping fit, and playing the piano!
Sam says “I can’t wait to host the HPHB classes and support the parents of Leeds to become happy and informed parents! It’s such a privilege to support new parents at this exciting, life changing time! “
How does this differ to NCT classes in Chapel Allerton, Leeds?
The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.
The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.
Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, the nearest NCT classes are in Wakefield and are priced at £269, compared to prices from £199 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Wakefield are held at Wrenthorpe Methodist Church, whereas our classes take place at The Northlight Arts Centre where you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.
