Who runs the classes?
Meet Natalie.
Natalie is one of the midwives who teaches our Battersea antenatal classes. Natalie graduated as a midwife in 2008 from Kings College London and since then has worked as an independent midwife specialising in home birth, and more recently as a Health Visitor. Natalie's current role is a specialist Health Visitor for infant feeding in a busy South London borough. Natalie is also a mum of two young girls, and loves to bake and lift heavy weights in her spare time! Natalie has always had a passion for antenatal care and knows the importance of preparing antenatally for what is such a momentous and life changing event; 'I can't wait to support you in the crazy and amazing journey that is becoming a parent!'
How does this differ to NCT classes in Battersea?
The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.
The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.
Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes in Battersea are priced at £369, compared to £259 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Battersea take place at Battersea Arts Centre whereas our classes take place at No.29 Power Station West, so you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.
Our local Battersea community
Most of the people coming on our Battersea course are from Battersea. The course is also popular with those living in neighbouring areas of Wandsworth, Clapham and Chelsea.
From walks along the river and trips to Battersea Power Station, to coffee shop hangouts and playdates at each other’s houses, graduates from our Battersea antenatal classes are never short of things to do together.
Is it worth it?
“Truly brilliant course. Couldn’t wish for better. Feel so much more empowered about birth and looking after baby having been on this course. The resources you’re given afterwards are great too. Excellent value for money! Thanks guys”
