Who runs the classes?
Meet Anna.
Anna trained at City University of London and qualified in 2015, she now works as a Clinical Nurse and Midwifery Lead for a private agency, alongside her midwifery role in the community. Anna has built a comprehensive career across all sectors of maternity care, with a particular passion for working as a homebirth and stand alone birth centre midwife. These roles have allowed her to provide individualised, holistic patient centred care which she finds very rewarding. Anna is a mum to two little girls and in her spare time she is usually in a playground or soft play drinking a large coffee! She says, "I am so excited to share this part of your journey with you, I love antenatal education and find that knowledge is empowering, I want to give you the tools to make informed decisions about your care. It can sometimes be overwhelming but there is so much support available and what a great way for you all to meet others going on the same journey!"
How does this differ to NCT classes in Barnet?
NCT classes have been around since the 1950s and for many decades were the only antenatal classes. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case. Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes in Barnet are not the same as NCT classes in Barnet, or other antenatal classes in and around Barnet. Here are some of the differences (as per December 2024).
Our local community
Most of the people coming on our Barnet course are from Barnet. The course is also popular with those living in neighbouring areas of Whetstone, Borehamwood and Shenley.
