Tell us about your family…
Hello. We are Daniel & Jordan. Daniel is an accountant and Jordan is a Paramedic. We are parents to twins Roman & Reuben and cats Blue & Coco. We took the Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes in Edgbaston.
How was your pregnancy?
My pregnancy was amazing despite being pregnant with twins. I had some tiredness and general aches but pretty smooth sailing. We were so excited but also apprehensive being that we were expecting two babies. We had no experience with babies so HPHB gave us a strong set of foundations to get going into parenthood.
Where did you have your baby?
Hospital. Great.
How was your birth?
Our birth was a planned C-section and it was the most amazing experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Hearing the first cries is a memory that will live with me forever. Recovery was surprisingly good and not half as bad as I expected although I appreciate this isn’t everyone’s experience.
How did you keep comfortable?
Breathing techniques and visualisation during the spinal. Keeping talking with nurses and my partner helped me through everything.
How did you feel when you first met your baby?
It’s indescribable. A feeling like no other. Seeing the two beautiful boys that we created was the most amazing feeling the world.
How were the early days with your baby?
A challenge and it very much still is 10 weeks in. Feeding, burping and changing definitely helped by the course. We still now say to burp after 1-2oz as taught by our lovely course teacher. Being mom and dad is amazing and has completed us.
What has been your top triumph?
Rocking two babies to sleep alone!
What has been your top challenge?
The nights where you finally get one to sleep then the other wakes up and you have to start all over again.
What has been your proudest moment?
Their little smiles!
One thing you weren’t expecting…
Not knowing how to entertain them.
Any regrets?
Moses baskets that they never want to be put down in.
How have your HPHB group supported you?
Support.

One final tip for other expectant parents…
